Soy-Glazed Tofu

Ingredients for serving

  • 0.4 g Orange Zest 0.03 x piece (15g)
  • 78.8 g Tofu, firm, prepared with .. 0.63 x cup (126g)
  • 3.5 g Brown Sugar 0.25 x tbsp (14g)
  • 8 g Soy sauce made from soy and .. 0.5 x tbsp (16g)
  • 6.3 g Orange, fruit, raw, juice 0.06 x 100 ml (100g)
  • 11.3 g Rice wine vinegar 0.75 x tbsp (15g)
  • 0.6 g Sesame Seeds, Toasted 0.13 x 1 tbsp (5g)
  • 7.5 g Chopped Green Onions 0.05 x 1 cup (150g)
  • 1 g Oil, sesame, salad or cooking 0.25 x tsp (4g)

Instructions

  • Cut tofu slices in half diagonally. Place each slice in different layers on paper towels. Cover the slices on additional paper towels and keep them aside for a few minutes.
  • Mix rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, orange juice, orange zest and brown sugar in a pan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the mixture becomes syrupy and thick.
  • Heat a little oil in a pan. Arrange tofu slices in it and saute until they become golden brown. Remove tofu slices from pan and pour vinegar mixture over them.
  • Sprinkle tofu slices with toasted sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately.
