Peruvian Chicha Morada Drink

Ingredients for serving

  • 378 g Water
  • 25 g Apples, raw, with skin 0.2 x cup, quartered or chopped (125g)
  • 8.3 g Pineapple, raw, traditional .. 0.05 x cup, chunks (165g)
  • 30 g Brown Sugar
  • 2 g Cinnamon Sticks 0.2 x Stick (10g)
  • 24 g Lemon juice, raw 0.5 x lemon yields (48g)
  • 1.5 g whole cloves
  • 42.5 g Purple corns

Instructions

  • In a large pot add cloves, cinnamon sticks and corn. Bring them to boil with water.
  • Then reduce the heat and allow it to simmer for at least half an hour.
  • Now remove the drink mixture from heat and strain it using a mesh to eliminate spices and corn.
  • Then add sugar and lemon juice into the chicha and stir it until all sugar has dissolved.
  • Keep the chicha in a fridge
  • Just before serving, add apple and chopped pineapple and a few ice cubes
