Oatmeal With Sauteed Mushroom, Onion And Thyme

Ingredients for serving

  • 28.4 g Oats 1 x ounce (oz)
  • 70 g Mushrooms, white, raw 1 x cup, pieces or slices (2.5 oz)
  • 0.4 g Thyme, fresh 1 x tsp (0 oz)
  • 10 g Onions, raw 1 x tbsp chopped (0.4 oz)
  • 7.2 g chopped Garlic 1 x tbsp (0.3 oz)
  • 0.4 g Salt, table 1 x dash (0 oz)
  • 2.1 g Spices, pepper, black 1 x tsp (0.1 oz)
  • 224 g Water 1 x 1 cup (7.9 oz)
  • 4.5 g Oil, olive, salad or cooking 1 x tsp (0.2 oz)

Instructions

  • Bring water to a boil, add oatmeal. Stir and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 15 minutes while stirring occasionally until oats are soft and tender.
  • Meanwhile heat the oil in a saucepan. Add onion and garlic and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add mushrooms and thyme sprigs cook until mushrooms turn golden brown.
  • Add salt and pepper to the mushroom and cook until tender.
  • Add cooked oatmeal and mix well with the mushrooms.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
