Monte Cristo Sandwiches

Ingredients for serving

  • 10 g strawberry jam 0.5 x 1 tbsp (20g)
  • 0.5 g Sugars, powdered 0.25 x tsp (2g)
  • 3.5 g Unsalted butter 0.25 x tbsp (14g)
  • 28 g Ham, sliced, regular .. 1 x slice (28g)
  • 28 g Cheese, swiss, low fat 1 x slice (1 oz) (28g)
  • 15 g Turkey breast, sliced, .. 1 x slice (15g)
  • 56 g Sandwich bread 2 x 1 slice (28g)
  • 30.8 g Milk, reduced fat, fluid, 2% .. 0.13 x cup (246g)
  • 25 g Egg, whole, raw, fresh 0.5 x large (50g)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine milk and beaten egg.
  • Place a slice of bread on a table and top it with 1 slice ham, 1 slice cheese, 1 slice turkey and 1 slice of bread. Repeat the process for the remaining sandwiches.
  • Place a large frying pan over medium-high heat and melt a little butter in it. Make sure to swirl the pan to coat it with melted butter.
  • Carefully dip the sandwiches in the egg mixture and place it in the hot pan carefully. Cook the sandwiches on both sides for at least 3 minutes.
  • Cut the cooked sandwiches diagonally and sprinkle them with powdered sugar. Now top each sandwich with a small dollop of strawberry jam and serve immediately.
